Fish Farmer: ‘New Zealand - Ambitious Plans for Aquaculture’

The May 2024 issue of Fish Farmer magazine included a four-page article about how our New Zealand aquaculture industry is ‘Gearing for Growth’.

Reporter, Sandy Neil, outlines the various plans we have to grow our industry and hit the target of NZ$3 billion in revenue by 2035 - as set out in the 2019 New Zealand Government Aquaculture Strategy.

Numerous projects and initiatives are detailed in the article including New Zealand King Salmon’s Blue Endeavour project, Mt Cook Alpine Salmon’s proposed land-based salmon farm, mussel spat research projects and Government plans to unlock growth opportunities through planning reforms as well as the potential of farming new species.
