Greenshell™ mussel powder making it’s mark!
A new quality mark for our Greenshell™ mussel powder was officially launched at the Aquaculture NZ conference on Wednesday 11th October by Ben Winters, Director of Aroma NZ Ltd.
The industry recognised the need to provide quality assurance and authenticity to their valued customers and consumers, protect our country's reputation, and guard against potentially fraudulent activities. After extensive collaboration among NZ powder producers, the industry agreed upon two key criteria:
the powder must contain ONLY Greenshell™ mussel powder and
the powder must have a minimum lipid content of 8% (8g/100g)
This decision was based on robust scientific analysis provided by Cawthron. The project was facilitated by AQNZ and co-funded by Sustainable Food and Fibre Futures.
