Policy

21. Flax

The Aquaculture Legislation Reform Bill (No.3) is expected to bring significant changes to the policy that governs New Zealand’s aquaculture industry.

The full extent of The Bill will not be known until it is enacted into law later this year.

However some of the changes were highlighted during the second reading of The Bill and can be seen here.

Until such time, New Zealand marine farmers continue operate in accordance to the legislative frame established in 2005.  For more information on the existing legislative frame work, click here.
