“Phase 2 will see us embrace dynamic change and scaling up for real industry growth ”
Phase 2 of the Aquaculture New Zealand strategy, outlining the core operations of the organisation for the next four years, will be availble for consultation by the end of the month.
“Phase 1 was all about laying the foundations – building our reputation, creating new ways of doing things, developing government and stakeholder partnerships, advocating for law reform and new investment,” Ms Clarkson said.
“We’ve come a long way as an industry organisation – we’ve created a profile and a new way of working for the good of the industry.
“Phase 2 will see us embrace dynamic change and scaling up for real industry growth. We’re increasing focus on profitability, investment, research, innovation and education.
“This is where we’re making a defined change in approach.
“We’ve laid the foundations, consolidated ourselves as an industry organisation, now we’re pushing for tangible progress for aquaculture.”
The draft version of the strategy was approved for consultation by the AQNZ board of directors last week and will soon be made available to all shareholders.
“We welcome all feedback on the strategy from our members,” Ms Clarkson said.
“This is your chance to have a say on how you want your industry organisation to operate.”
